Alamo Bowl: State vs. Tech

Valero Alamo Bowl

Robert Guliano on Why Texas Tech will win: Because Michigan State has played like they’ve been locked in an electrical closet all year. 1-6 against bowl eligible teams.

Tech players to watch:

3. That Ruffin McNeill guy- Replacing prestigious head coach Mike Leach is a guy named Ruffin. Aside from hearing his name recited when teachers took attendance in school, inheriting this mess has to be one of the toughest things he has had to do in his life.

2. Adam James- He’ll be the guy with the cell phone, video taping Ruffin’s every move.

1. Tommy Tuberville- The defensive coaching extraordinaire is said to be interested in the Tech head coaching job. That would be a 180 if I’ve ever seen one.

Brandon Hickey on why the Spartans will win: And here we are. Another Michigan State disappointing season. A popular top 25 team at the start of the year, they lost to Central Michigan in week two then followed that up with a close loss to Notre Dame the next week. It was a season that had more ups and downs than driving through West Virginia. They ended up at 6-6 and somehow in the Alamo Bowl against Texas Tech who recently fired their coach for locking one of his players in an electrical closet. Ladies and gentlemen, Mike Leach! Anyway, this should be an exciting one to watch with two good offenses and two atrocious defenses squaring off.

MSU key players:
3.The San Antonio Police Department-Michigan State has 9 players suspended for this game for an on-campus brawl in a residence hall. The tough guys and the SAPD will make sure everyone stays in line at the Spartan hotel.
2. All the backups-Because all these players are suspended, their backups will have to step up. Notably those in the secondary, because Texas Tech doesn't know what a running back is supposed to do.
1. Craig James-Craig James was able to get Mike Leach fired. Maybe he can have some more accusations and get some players kicked off Texas Tech's team. Like if someone says something mean to his son, boom, that guys gone. You don't mess with Craig James.

THE COMPROMISE: Shorthanded State can't take down ruined Tech squad, 42-38 Red Raiders.
